artist statement
I’ve had a deep interest in art for as long as I can remember; but it wasn’t until high school where I discovered that I wanted a career in the arts. I would have never imagined that doing something that I already loved would turn into a career. I always enjoyed making website layouts and creating posters; the mere idea of working in this type of media thrilled me to no end. Though most of my work is digital I also enjoy working with other types of media and eventually incorporate them into my designs, such as photography, drawings, and even my own fonts.
I’ve always been the type of person that followed pop culture very closely (even as a young child), keeping up with the trends of today’s society. Due to my fascination with pop culture my artwork has been highly influenced by it. Making it the subject matter of a mass amount of my work. Being influenced by pop culture has the potential of aiding me in working in the media; such as magazine publishing and television broadcast networks as a graphic designer.
As of today, my passion for graphic design increases with each passing day. As I learn about not only new but also older graphic designers, I gain a new sense of appreciation for the work that I do. Working for a magazine, doing layouts, and working with print media are my career goals. I have a deep interest in social media, so incorporating my designs into website layouts or mobile applications would be another major goal of mine.
